REMOTE WORK AND WORK FROM HOME AGREEMENT

This Agreement is made on the 14th day of March 2024.

BETWEEN:

Smith Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN: 12 345 678 901) of 123 Trade Street, Brisbane QLD (‘the Employer’)

AND:

Sarah Jones of 45 Sandy Lane, Redcliffe QLD (‘the Employee’)

1. BACKGROUND

1.1 The Employee is employed by the Employer as an Office Administrator. 1.2 The Employee has requested to work from a remote location. 1.3 The Employer agrees to this request subject to the terms in this Agreement.

2. COMMENCEMENT AND DURATION

2.1 This remote work arrangement will start on 20 March 2024. 2.2 This arrangement will continue for an indefinite period. 2.3 Either party may end this arrangement by giving 4 weeks written notice.

3. LOCATION OF WORK

3.1 The Employee will primarily work from the following address (‘the Remote Work Location’): 45 Sandy Lane, Redcliffe QLD 4020 3.2 The Employee must not work from any other location without prior written approval from the Employer.

4. HOURS OF WORK

4.1 The Employee agrees to work their standard hours of 38 hours per week. 4.2 The agreed core working hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. 4.3 The Employee must take regular breaks and meal periods in accordance with the Clerks Private Sector Award. 4.4 The Employee must remain available for contact during these hours.

5. EQUIPMENT AND RESOURCES

5.1 The Employer will provide the following equipment for use at the Remote Work Location:

  • Dell Laptop Laptop-001
  • 24 inch Dell Monitor
  • Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
  • Cisco Headset 5.2 The Employee acknowledges they received this equipment in good working order. 5.3 The Employee agrees to use this equipment only for work purposes. 5.4 The Employee will be responsible for the following costs associated with remote work:
  • Electricity and heating/cooling
  • Workspace furniture (desk and chair) 5.5 The Employer agrees to reimburse the Employee for the following costs:
  • Internet connection up to $80 per month
  • Work related mobile phone calls 5.6 The Employee must ensure the Remote Work Location has a reliable and secure internet connection.

6. WORK HEALTH AND SAFETY (WHS)

6.1 The Employer and Employee both have duties under Work Health and Safety legislation. 6.2 The Employee agrees to complete a Workstation Self-Assessment Checklist and provide it to the Employer. 6.3 The Employee agrees to maintain a safe workspace free from hazards. 6.4 The Employee must immediately report any work-related injury or incident to the Employer. 6.5 The Employee agrees not to work while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 6.6 The Employee must ensure their home environment is suitable for work and free from undue distractions.

7. DATA SECURITY AND PRIVACY

7.1 The Employee must comply with the Employer’s IT Security Policy. 7.2 The Employee must ensure all work data is stored on secure, approved systems. 7.3 The Employee must not share work passwords or access devices with unauthorised persons. 7.4 The Employee must lock their computer screen whenever they leave their workspace. 7.5 The Employee must return all company data and equipment upon termination of employment or this arrangement.

8. PERFORMANCE AND MONITORING

8.1 The Employer will monitor the Employee’s performance based on outputs and results. 8.2 The Employee agrees to participate in regular check-ins and performance reviews. 8.3 The Employer may require the Employee to work from the employer’s premises for specific reasons, such as team meetings or training.

9. COMMUNICATION

9.1 The Employee agrees to maintain regular communication with their manager and team. 9.2 The primary communication tools will be Microsoft Teams and Xero. 9.3 The Employee must respond to work communications within 2 hours during working hours.

10. INSURANCE

10.1 The Employee acknowledges that the Employer’s insurance covers the Employee for work-related activities at the Remote Work Location. 10.2 The Employee is responsible for checking their own home and contents insurance to ensure it covers work activities or equipment stored at home.

11. VARIATION

11.1 The Employer may review this arrangement at any time. 11.2 Any changes to this Agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.
