Notes

This example shows a company starting with two equal owners. John Smith owned 50 shares and Sarah Jones owned 50 shares. Later, they brought in a new partner, Mike Brown. To do this, John Smith sold 40 of his shares to Mike Brown. The register was updated to show Mike Brown entering as a member with 10 shares. It also shows John Smith's original entry reducing and then ceasing for those specific 40 shares (conceptually), though in practice, you would often just see the transfer out and adjustment of totals. In this simplified example, we see the entry for the transfer date.
