TASK DESCRIPTION
Scope of Works: Install a Daikin 5kW Split System. Indoor unit to be mounted on living room wall. Outdoor unit to be mounted on brackets on the external brick wall at 3.5m height. Electrical work to be performed by qualified electrician.

SAFE WORK METHOD (Excerpt)
Step 4: Mounting Outdoor Unit
- Position EWP near the wall mounting site.
- Operator puts on harness and inspects EWP.
- Worker raises to working height.
- Ground worker attaches lifting straps to outdoor unit.
- Worker in EWP pulls unit up using pulley.
- Worker guides unit onto pre-installed brackets.
- Secure unit with bolts.

Notes
In this example, the risk of working at heights was mitigated by substituting the ladder with an Elevated Work Platform (EWP). This is a higher order control than using a ladder with a stabiliser. The manual handling risk was reduced by using a pulley system.
