4. External Checks - Rear
- Tail lights
- Brake lights
- Indicator lights (rear)
- Number plate light
- Reflectors
- Rear guards and mud flaps
- Tow bar and coupling (if applicable)
5. External Checks - Right Side
- Right dual tyres (tread, pressure, damage)
- Right rims (condition)
- Right front tyre (tread, pressure, damage)
- Right front rim (condition)
- Right side marker lights
- Exhaust system (secure, no smoke)
6. Load & Trailer (if applicable)
- Load restraint (tensioned and secure)
- Tarp condition (if fitted)
- Trailer connection (safety pin, air lines, electrical)
- Trailer lights (test function)
- Trailer brakes (test function)
7. Operational Checks
- Service brakes (air pressure build up)
- Parking brake (hold test)
- Transmission operation

Notes
Note on Defects: The driver identified a minor defect with the right front indicator. Because the driver had a spare bulb and the skills to change it, the defect was rectified immediately on site. This is the correct procedure. If the driver could not fix it, the truck should have been locked out and the manager notified.
