WORKPLACE SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
1. Introduction
Brady's Bricklaying Pty Ltd (the Company) recognises that social media is a big part of our daily lives and business. This policy sets out the rules for using social media. It applies to all employees, subcontractors, and apprentices (Staff).
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Protect the reputation of Brady's Bricklaying Pty Ltd.
- Protect the privacy of our clients and staff.
- Prevent bullying and harassment.
- Make sure everyone knows what is expected of them online.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Use of social media during work hours.
- Use of social media on company devices like phones and tablets.
- Personal use of social media outside work hours if it affects the Company or other staff.
Social media includes Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, and any other online platforms.
3. General Rules
Staff must follow these rules at all times:
- Be respectful and professional.
- Do not post anything that is rude, offensive, or discriminatory.
- Do not post anything that is illegal.
- Remember that nothing on the internet is truly private.
4. Use of Company Devices and Internet
Brady's Bricklaying Pty Ltd provides tablets and internet data for work purposes like ordering materials. Staff may use social media on these devices during lunch breaks only. Staff must not:
- Download apps without permission from the Site Manager.
- Visit websites that are unsafe or inappropriate.
- Use the company internet to stream videos during work time.
5. Confidentiality and Privacy
Staff must keep information private. You must not:
- Post photos of clients or their properties without written permission.
- Share client names, addresses, or contact details.
- Talk about confidential projects online, such as upcoming tenders.
- Post photos that show inside someone's home or private space without checking.
If you are unsure if you can post a photo of a finished job, ask the Site Manager.
6. Representing the Business
If you identify yourself as a worker of Brady's Bricklaying Pty Ltd online, your behaviour reflects on us. Do not speak on behalf of the Company unless you are the Director. If you see a bad comment or review about the Company, do not reply. Send a screenshot to the Office Manager to handle.
7. Bullying and Harassment
Brady's Bricklaying Pty Ltd has zero tolerance for bullying. This includes online bullying. Do not:
- Post mean comments about other staff or apprentices on Facebook.
- Share private photos or videos of staff without consent.
- Make threats online via WhatsApp groups.
8. Breaches of this Policy
If you break this policy, it is serious misconduct. Brady's Bricklaying Pty Ltd may take disciplinary action. This can include:
- A formal warning.
- Loss of privileges (e.g. losing access to the company tablet).
- Termination of employment or subcontract.
