  • Fire extinguishers are ready and within 10 metres (Class A and B or appropriate type)
  • Flammable materials have been moved at least 11 metres away or covered with fire-resistant blankets
  • Floors are swept clean of combustible debris
  • All floor and wall openings are covered or plugged to prevent sparks passing through
  • Adequate ventilation is provided
  • Fire alarm system is operational (if applicable)
