1. JOB DETAILS

Project: Kitchen Benchtop Installation - Phase 1 Specific Work: Installation of 40mm Natural Marble Benchtops on ground floor and first floor. Cutting of sink holes on site. High Risk Work: Manual handling (over 100kg slabs), Use of handheld cutters (Silica), Working at heights (MEWP for first floor install).

2. PERSONNEL

Supervisor: John Smith Workers: Mike Ross (Grinder/Installer), Dave Lee (Laborer)

3. TASK BREAKDOWN

1. Unload marble slabs from truck using forklift and trolley.
2. Carry slabs into ground floor kitchen.
3. Set up exclusion zone for cutting sink holes.
4. Wet cut sink holes using angle grinder with water attachment.
5. Transport first floor slabs via scissor lift.
6. Install and seal benchtops.

5. CONTROL MEASURES

Silica Control

• Marble contains silica. All cutting must be done wet.
• A hose is attached to the grinder providing constant water.
• The floor is wet mopped immediately after cutting. No dry sweeping.
• Mike wears a fit-tested P3 respirator and safety glasses.

Manual Handling

• Slabs are 2.4m long. Two people required.
• Use a heavy-duty stone trolley with rubber wheels.
• Ensure path is clear of cords and debris.

Working at Heights

• Scissor lift is hired and inspected daily.
• Harness worn and clipped to the anchor point inside the lift.
• No leaning over the guard rails of the lift.
